I have not posted for about 2 weeks due to health issues. I had posted about my hot flashes and how it makes me dread running. About 2 1/2 weeks ago it went from livable to unbearable.
I could not sleep, therefore, I was not running. I’m in the process of figuring out why I’m getting hot flashes and general hotness. It means multiple blood tests, urine tests, and doctor visits. Right now I’m in the waiting game. Waiting 2 more weeks so I can do more blood tests and another 24 urine test (no one should have to do that!) Then I have to wait another 2 weeks after that to see the specialist again.
I’ve decided that I’m not going to put my life on hold. I may feel
like crap really bad, but I love to run or I used to when my heart rate cooperated. I’ve run a couple times and it was not pretty. But I’m signed up for 2 half marathons and would love to do a 3rd with my two running gals this fall and I need to start training. I’ve readjusted my goals as my training is now going to be 13 weeks instead of 15 and I’ll have to start out slow as I’m not feeling my best. It’s a good thing I had already planned on doing run/walk as my 3 half marathons are three weeks in a row.
I’m putting week 1 of my adjusted training plan out there so I have to stick to it – taking it easy and getting moving:
Sunday – off (my youngest boy turns 7!)
Monday – 2 mile run plus 1 mile walk
Tuesday – 2.5 mile run plus 1 mile walk
Wednesday – off
Thursday – 2.5 mile run plus 1 mile walk
Friday – off
Saturday – 4 mile run
